Expertly blending utility and performance, the Ford Escape exemplifies the best parts about SUVs, while making you second guess whether or not it is one. Its ample handling and surprisingly powerful performance are enough to make you think it should be a sedan, but its top-class cargo space and versatile usage solidify itself as one of the best compact crossovers on the market. Learn more about how the Ford Escape can drive you through the busy Mississauga streets, here at Whiteoak Ford.
The 2019 Ford Escape offers three engines: The 2.5L with independent variable cam design (iVCT), a 1.5L EcoBoost, and the Twin-Scroll 2.0L EcoBoost with up to 245 horsepower. Choosing an EcoBoost engine for your Escape add the fuel-saving and emissions-conscious Auto Start-Stop Technology, that helps you save both at the pump and at the bank—but it’s not the only reason it’s smart.
With the available Safe & Smart package, technology can alert you to unintentional lane drift, warn you of a vehicle in your blind spot, auto-maneuver you into (or out of) a tight parking spot, or open the available hands-free, foot-operated liftgate with just a gentle kick under the rear bumper. The Escape also comes packed with the SYNC® infotainment system, but the SE model comes standard with the advanced SYNC 3 system, letting you and enjoy enhanced performance, voice-recognition technology, and FordPass® Connect with Wi-Fi capabilities.
The Ford Escape garnered tons of new features to help modernize it for today’s drivers. For example, the 2018 Escape model year introduced the 179-horsepower 1.5L EcoBoost engine which gives you more options for great performance and fuel-efficient driving. It also added the available Class II Trailer Tow Package to the engine for better towing capabilities and performance. On the technology side, the 2017 Escape’s model year gained a wide array of standard features for the SEL trim such as heated leather seats, a power liftgate, and an 8-inch touchscreen for the SYNC 3 system. The Ford Escape remains a constantly evolving vehicle, and it’s never been more evident than with this year’s 2019 Escape.
