We all dread the weather this time of year, especially when it comes to the road.
First things first ….
Winter tires… A must and are well recommended when comes to being safe in the winter time.
“All season” tires are okay, but “Winter Tires” are highly recommended when it comes to reliability and safety.
Here is just a one example of the comparison of “All season” V.S “Winter/Snow”
Battery …. Make sure your battery is charged and working normally. Cold weather badly affects battery performance; so check it before the temperature drops.
Oil …. The oil in your car thickens in cold weather so, a thinner grade of oil will help your car run more smoothly in the winter.
Wiper Fluid … Try buying winter wiper blades, which prevent ice and snow from hardening on the wiper.
Keeping windshield and windows clear …. Keep a snow-brush and scraper in your vehicle always
Pack your trunk for emergencies (in case u get stuck)
- Snow shovel
- Bottled water
Drive slowly because accelerating, stopping and turning all take longer on snow-covered or icy roads.
Leave more distance than usual between vehicles, according to the weather it can take longer to stop!
Don’t activate your cruise control when driving on a slippery surface. You want to maintain full control of your vehicle.
Know your route and be especially alert to avoid sudden stops and quick direction changes, know your directions before driving.
